Melissa Nickols is an artist whose practice explores relationships between traditional making and contemporary technologies. Working across sculpture, digital fabrication, jewellery, casting, and experimental materials, she is interested in how tools, processes and materials shape one another.

Recent work investigates fungal growth, metalwork, 3D printing, CNC machining, laser-cutting, and hand fabrication as parallel forms of making, often bringing traditional craft techniques into conversation with contemporary materials and digital processes.

Melissa works on unceded lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples (Canberra and surrounding areas).
